What you are buying, and what you can do with it

Econimer Terminal is an application for macOS. It costs fifty US dollars, once. There is no subscription, no seat to renew, and nothing that bills you again.

What that payment buys is a licence to use the app, not the file you download. The download is how you get it. The licence is what you own. That distinction has one practical consequence and one legal one: practically, you can reinstall as often as you like and lose nothing, and legally, it is why handing the installer to somebody else is not the same as lending them a book.

These terms are the agreement between you and us about that licence. Buying, installing or using the app means you accept them. If you do not, do not install it.

You need to be old enough to enter into a contract where you live. If you are buying for a company, you are confirming you are allowed to agree to this on its behalf.

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Econimer Terminal on Macs that you own or control, for your own use, on up to three machines at a time, for as long as you keep to these terms.

Inside that, use it for whatever you like, including work you are paid for. There is no separate commercial licence to buy and no per-seat price list. If you need it on more machines than that, or across a team, ask us. That is a conversation, not a refusal.

Everything we have not expressly granted you here stays ours, including the copyright in the app, its name and its design.

This is the part the licence exists for, so it is a list rather than a paragraph.

• Give away, sell, rent, lease, lend, sublicense or otherwise distribute the app or any part of it.
• Publish the installer, upload it to a file host or a torrent, or post a download link where people who have not bought it can use it.
• Share your purchase, your licence or your account with anybody else.
• Run it as a service for other people, or build something on top of it whose effect is to resell access to it.
• Remove, hide or alter any notice of ownership, copyright or licensing in the app.
• Work around, disable or interfere with anything in the app that checks the licence.
• Copy the app, other than the installations your licence allows and one backup of your own.

Reverse engineering. You may not decompile, disassemble or reverse engineer the app, except and only so far as the law where you live gives you that right and says a contract cannot take it away. Several countries do exactly that, usually for interoperability, and nothing here is meant to override them: where your law grants the right, your law wins over this paragraph. If you are relying on such a right, tell us what you are trying to do first, because more often than not we will simply tell you.

If we find the app being redistributed, the licence behind it ends. Section 12 says what that means.

Every decision you take with what you see here is yours alone, and so is its outcome. If you want advice, get it from somebody licensed to give it where you live.

Some of what the app displays is regulated information in some countries, or is restricted to certain kinds of investor. Whether you are allowed to act on any of it is a question about you and your jurisdiction, and only you can answer it.

The terminal does not produce market data. It collects it, from sources including Cboe, Yahoo Finance, SEC EDGAR, FINRA, the Federal Reserve and the IMF, and from any source you connect with a key of your own. What each source covers is set out on the Bringing in data page.

• We do not warrant that the data is accurate, current or complete. We take a great deal of care over how it is read and shown, and the app is built to leave a figure blank with a stated reason rather than fill it with a guess. But the numbers themselves are not ours, and we cannot stand behind them.
• Prices are delayed unless you have connected a source of your own whose own terms give you something faster. Delayed prices are not suitable for anything time-critical, and the app is not built for order entry or execution.
• A source can change or stop. Companies retire the ways they publish data, change their terms, move things behind a payment, impose limits, and go down. When one does, a panel says it cannot load rather than showing you something else. We fix what can be fixed, but we cannot promise any particular source keeps working, and a source going away is not a defect in the app. One shipping data service has been unavailable since 5 August 2026 for reasons that have nothing to do with this product, which is exactly the situation this paragraph describes.
• We do not promise the app is available uninterrupted or free of every fault.

The app is designed so that a figure it cannot source is shown as missing, with the reason, rather than as a zero or a placeholder. If you ever find it showing a number it should not, tell us. That is the report we most want to receive.

A good deal of the terminal works with no key at all. Past that, you connect sources using accounts you hold yourself.

• You are that source’s customer, not us. Their terms are an agreement between you and them, and you agree to keep to them.
• Several of them forbid redistributing what they send you, and others restrict it to personal or non-commercial use, or meter it. Knowing what your own plan allows, and staying inside it, is yours to do.
• We are not a party to those agreements. If a source suspends your key, closes your account, changes its price or bills you, that is between you and them, and there is nothing we can appeal or refund on your behalf.
• Any charge on a metered or paid plan is yours.

Deciding that a key you hold may be used inside this app is your decision, and only you can make it. The app never sends a key anywhere except to the source it belongs to, and never to us; the privacy notice sets out where it is kept.

Signing in is free and optional, and much of the terminal works without it. It exists so that your own work reaches your other Macs, and so that messaging works.

What you create while signed in stays yours: portfolios, watchlists, layouts, alerts, notes and messages. We do not claim ownership of it, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to train anything. We store it so it can reach you, and you can delete all of it, and the account with it, from inside the app. The privacy notice lists exactly what is held and how deletion works.

You are responsible for what you send to other people through the app, and for keeping your sign-in details to yourself. We can suspend or close an account being used to break these terms, break the law, or harm somebody. Where we can, we will say why first.

We may release updates. Some fix faults, some change how something works, and some remove a feature whose source has gone away. Updates are covered by the licence you already have and cost nothing.

The app can check whether a newer version has been published, and you can turn that off. We do not promise updates for any particular length of time.

Nothing here takes away a refund or cancellation right your own consumer law gives you. In several countries that right is wider than anything we could write, and it comes first.

Beyond that: if the terminal will not run on a Mac that meets the requirements stated on the download page, tell us within 30 days of buying and we will refund what you paid.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Econimer Terminal is provided “as is” and “as available”, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied. That includes any implied warranty of merchantability, of fitness for a particular purpose, of non-infringement, and any warranty arising from a course of dealing or a trade usage.

We do not warrant that it will meet your requirements, that it will run without interruption or error, or that any defect will be corrected.

Some countries do not allow those exclusions. Where yours does not, this section applies as far as it lawfully can and no further, and every guarantee your own law gives you stands.

This section is short, because the honest version is short.

Our total liability to you, for everything arising out of the app or these terms, is limited to the amount you paid us for it, to the fullest extent the law allows.

We are not liable for trading or investment losses, for lost profits, revenue, goodwill or data, or for any indirect or consequential loss, however it arises and whether or not we were told it was possible. That is the direct consequence of section 04: a tool that shows you information cannot carry the risk of what you decide to do with it.

Two things this limit does not touch, because they cannot lawfully be excluded: liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, and liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Where your own law makes something else non-excludable, that stands as well.

Your licence ends if you break these terms and do not put it right within a reasonable time of our asking, and it ends immediately if you redistribute the app.

When it ends, stop using the app and delete your copies of it. Your data is still yours: you can delete your account from inside the app, and the privacy notice explains how.

Sections 04, 05, 10 and 11 carry on applying after the licence ends.

Nothing in these terms takes away the protection of the consumer law where you live, or your right to bring a claim in the courts your own law entitles you to use. Where a clause here conflicts with a right your local law gives you and says cannot be contracted away, your law wins and the rest of these terms stand.

We may change these terms for a future purchase or a future release. The version that applies to you is the one in force on the day you bought.

When they change, the date at the top of this page changes with them, and anything significant is said in the app the next time you open it rather than left here for you to notice. We will not turn a licence you have already bought into a smaller one.

• If any clause turns out to be unenforceable, the remaining ones still stand.
• Not enforcing something once does not mean giving it up.
• These terms and the privacy notice are the whole agreement between us about the app, and they replace anything said before.
• You may not transfer your rights under these terms to somebody else. We may transfer ours if the product changes hands, and you would be told if that happened.
• Nobody other than you and us has any right to enforce any part of these terms.
